about her story ?

Chapter 1 : The creation of Punchette

Punchette is a Belgian musical project in the French punk-rock style that originated in a mother-daughter delirium. The daughter (myself) composed a few riffs and the mother tried to come up with some amusing lyrics, to which the daughter added her two cents. Creating a challenge to come up with the funniest verses.

Not knowing at first what style I was composing, it was during a music workshop organized by the youth center in Flémalle (Belgium) that I learned that my songs were punk. My reaction was: “Well, why not ? And so, Punchette was born, recording its first compositions at the youth center.

Chapter 2 : Punchette’s beginnings

It was also here that Punchette took her first steps on stage. In 2019, at the Halloween party, accompanied by young musicians from the youth center, playing to an audience of just over a hundred. Then, in 2021, at the open day of the Flémalle youth center, accompanied by her guitar and backing tracks.

After recording 6 tracks, the idea of making their first video emerged. With the help of the youth centrer, Punchette produced his first video. It was shot on their premises on a green background, and then edited by myself with the help of the youth worker and Sacha Delone.

Chapter 3 : The release of the first single

To accompany this first clip, the single was arranged and mixed by Sacha Delone, who then produced and mixed it in Liège (Belgium). Finally, the single was mastered in Seattle (USA) by Steve Turnidge and inserted into the clip during editing.

A few months later, Nadège aka Punchette, had the pleasure of announcing the birth of her solo project. Starting with the release of her first single “Pollution” accompanied by its video, in January 2023, available on YouTube, Bandcamp and the punchette.com website.

Chapter 4 : Punchette on the radio

Punchette’s first single, Pollution, was broadcast on a local radio station in Amay in the Province of Liège (Belgium). An interview was also planned.

This new adventure, which aims to raise public awareness of certain things I find shocking or revolting, but in a “fun” and “punchy” way, also aims to lead to the creation of an EP.

Chapter 5 : Punchette and the USA

Just as the clip was about to pass the 600-view mark on YouTube, 1 month after its official release, to my great surprise, Punchette got in touch with a radio host from the other side of the world. A radio station dedicated to the Punk Rock style and based in California (USA), who agreed to broadcast my first single “Pollution” on his radio station.

The radio host announced my song as a pleasant punk single in French, and gave me the immeasurable pleasure of placing my composition in the TOP 10 of the 40 songs played that day. And so it was that, after just 1 month, “Pollution” was already well up on the Californian radio station.

Chapter 6 : Punchette conquering the USA

Shortly after my first appearance on a US radio station, here I am again, playing my first single on an American radio station. Not in California this time, but in Phoenix, on the “Not the punk rock show”.

My first single “Pollution” continues to get airplay in the USA, this time in Florida on “Radio Warfare Live”. In fact, it was during a special program on new music that “Pollution” went to number one on the playlist.

Chapter 7 : Punchette and Japan

In April 23, barely 3 months after its official release, “Pollution” was ranked in the TOP 3 new videos of the week, according to Mike Rogers. On his blog, you’ll find a short description of the 3 favorites, including Punchette, as well as their video clips, which you should definitely check out!

Punchette was incredibly surprised and hopes to meet Mike Rogers in person to thank him. He’s a producer, director of several radio and TV shows, and former lead singer of Los Angeles punk band The Rotters.

Chapter 8 : First radio interviews

Punchette had the pleasure of doing her first radio interview on Amay’s AFM 106.3 FM radio station. But not only that, Punchette also performed his first live guitar-vocals song. This interview with Sacha Delone will soon be available on Punchette’s website.

Shortly after this first interview, Punchette had the chance to accompany Sacha Delone to an interview and to be interviewed in turn. It was on Impact FM, a local radio station in Malmedy (Belgium), that Punchette was able to present her project and at the same time announce the forthcoming release of the second single.

What does the future hold for Punchette ?
